Pittsburg, CA— Joining a the team of key environmental endorsements, including the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) and the California Parks & Recreation Society (CPRS), the Sierra Club California today officially endorsed Mae Cendaña Torlakson in the race to represent District 14 in the State Assembly.

Following the endorsement, Sierra Club California Director Kathryn Phillips released the following statement:

“Sierra Club California is pleased to endorse Mae Cendaña Torlakson’s candidacy for election to the California State Assembly. We believe that she has demonstrated a true and outstanding commitment to environmental protection and preservation of our natural resources. We know that she will continue to work to protect California’s air, water and wilderness places. We look forward to working with her in the State Legislature.”

In response to the major endorsement, Ambrose Recreation and Park District Board Member Mae Cendaña Torlakon stated:

“I have spent much of my career dedicated to protecting the Delta and preserving open space, keeping our air and water clean, and creating parks so that generations to come can enjoy the beauty of California’s natural habitats. I will work hard to stop the Delta tunnels while providing access to the Delta and the shorelines of California. I am honored to get the Sierra Club California’s endorsement. ”

In addition to today’s endorsement, Mae Cendaña Torlakson has gained widespread support from a variety of endorsers including, local leaders, elected officials, and community, environmental, and labor organizations.
